Jira Server - How to Install
NOTE: This is for the installation of Jira Server apps and will not work on JIRA cloud.
You need to be a JIRA Administrator in order to install an app. Please ensure you have the latest version of the Universal Plugin Manager installed, 2.2.4 or above. (Older versions of the UPM may have issues with installation/license keys.)
There are multiple ways in which it can be installed:

By searching the Marketplace from within JIRA

As a JIRA Administrator, navigate to the Administration page and click on "Plugins" (or Apps in later versions) in the top menu bar.

Now select the "Find New Plugins" menu item and enter the name of the app into the Search box on the left.

In the resulting search, select the app you want to instal and click on the "Buy Now" or "Free Trial" buttons. Clicking on one of them will take you to https://my.atlassian.com where you can either enter your userid/password or create a new account. The Buy Now button lets you buy a license whereas the Free Trail gives you a free 30-day evaluation version.

The software will now be installed and the license key will be automatically added to activate it.

By clicking on the "Free 30 Day Trial" or "Buy License Now" button in the apps page on the Atlassian Marketplace

In the Atlassian Marketplace click on the "Free 30 Day Trial" or "Buy License Now" buttons.

This will take you to https://my.atlassian.com where you can either enter your userid/password or create a new account. This will give you a free 30-day evaluation version or let you buy licenses for the app.

The software and license key will now be available.
